Ever thought about your childhood being taken away from you? well, expect it to be as Netflix is currently in the process of buying Warner Bros. The very foundation of amazing movies and TV shows may be rebranded into something unrecognizable.
On December 5, 2025, it was announced that Netflix would be taking over WB. The amount of money that Netflix is offering is approximately $82.7 billion. It is known that the deal is in revision because Warner bro’s have another offer from Paramount, which has led to Netflix raising their offer. Since the deal was announced, Netflix’s shares have fallen 10%. This is bound to be a travesty because Netflix is known for low-quality programming.
Netflix is known for repeatedly using the same plot and topics, and it has become redundant. Netflix gets rid of popular shows without a proper ending. Shows like Insatiables, the Babysitters Club, all of these were fan favorites, people waited for the new season, and remain hopeful new seasons will come out, but Netflix cuts them usually due to budget cuts. If you ask someone what is good to watch on Netflix, they’d say there isn’t much. Netflix isn’t so creative. It takes a while to find something extremely good unless it’s from another network or a classic that was added to Netflix. Now let’s think about it, warners bros are known for their amazing classics like Shrek, Looney Tunes, Happy Feet, Nancy Drew, Scooby doo, etc. The network’s reputation could possibly be tainted now that Netflix will soon be in charge of the majority of what goes on. Breaking the hearts of millions who grew up praising and watching Warner bros productions.
As people think back to shows and movies they watched as kids, they think of Batman, Looney Tunes, The DC League, The Lego Movies, and more, but could all of that be affected if Netflix became the new owner of Warner Bros after the deal closes ?. Many of those movies and shows could lose their meaning after they get sold; with Netflix’s lack of creativity, Warner Bros. could damage its reputation. They are known for making so many good films that a lot of us have grown up with. Unlike Netflix, the Warner brothers make films out of comics and books; they don’t change a single thing from the books to the movies, like Harry Potter. Many people loved and loved Harry Potter, the books and the movies. The movies reflect everything that happens in the books.
This is just another unhappy ending due to Netflix, where we’re losing Warner Bros. and the creativity its creators poured into it. Unfortunately, even people have continuously watched shows and movies created by the Warner bros networks. Those watchers will see the downfall of their favorite network. Hopefully, Netflix allows the network to remain what it’s known for, bringing people’s childhood to life and serving as a positive and funny resort during a sad day. Hopefully, it still manages to put a smile on people’s faces.
