Recently Donald J.Trump was elected president, causing quite the stir in the community. AMS students, for the most part, had no say in this election, but will be affected by the results, so naturally it’s only fair we hear what they have to say. Here are a few reactions:
The questions asked are the following:
- What are your feelings toward the 2024 election results?
- How will this outcome affect your life?
“I would say I’m disappointed, but I wasn’t surprised because with the world has been since Obama’s turn out, I wouldn’t be surprised. But I am disappointed because no matter how many qualifications a black woman would have a white man will take away and it’s really disappointing. I feel like it could affect me but not in the way, where like ‘OMG’, but more so in the way, where going to different states and being in different states, even living in some states, is definitely something I have to really think about especially the next four years of college, like where I wanna be, what laws I want to be under, who’s government I want to be under. For the time being, because ultimately going to be there as a resident, So it’s like it’s sad cause I can’t travel to a bunch of the places I wanted to with no really worries, but now it’s something I really do think of.”
“Me, to be honest, I do not care, but I’m happy that Kamala didn’t win cause we would have three more hours of school, thats all I care about. If I would’ve had three more hours, I would’ve crashed out and broke everything, thats to keep it 100” “Nah, Donald Trump he believe in God, I believe in God, so whats wrong”
“Absolutely, I feel like trump is gonna boost the economy. I feel like he just needs of the laws. It’s a lot of things happening around the streets, and it varies. And it’s unsafe at night, you know. So yeah I just feel like trump should’ve won.” Well yea its gonna affect me personally because like I’ll be able to walk around safely”
“I really don’t have any-type of way, because to be honest once I saw Trump and harris um trying to elect. I really didn’t pick a side. I didn’t really agree with none of their points of views.”Not really, but maybe yes cause like Trump is trying to do a lot of things in public schools, but we don’t know if he’s actually trying to do that. And if he does it’s going to be a problem because not many kids can afford private school, so like where we are going get our learning from”
“It was kinda mixed cause I feel like both of the options weren’t great this year, so it was really hard for me to like have one stand point, and a side I really stand with. Yeah, I heard that Trump’s plans were to raise the income tax on imported goods, sorry not the income tax but the tax on imported things from the outside the country and a lot of the manufacturing already makes these from outside the country. I just don’t think we have the production here to make a quick transition from manufacturing things from outside America to inside America, so prices of normal stuff is going to go up by a lot and its going to take a while to be replaced with goods that were made in the U.S.”Yeah, it’s going to affect me, it’s already hard surviving in the middle class of America and i’m barely even there….soooo. Everything is just going to get more expensive and then you’re going to have to get normal stuff paying more and more just for stuff.”
