Black Ops 6 has been a major success, with over 500 million copies sold worldwide. It has been anticipated by gamers for a while. But does it live up to the hype? Many gamers around the globe share mixed feelings about the game, with “some feeling overwhelmed” with its new mechanics, says Kevin Diaz, 12th grade.
Youtuber BigPuffer asks, “How zombies will be with Omni-movement?” He mentions how good the graphics look from the trailer footage. The zombies gamemode also includes new zombies and maps which include swimming as a new action. It is a signature gamemode for all Black Ops games. Some players have the game only for the zombies game mode. Players were also allowed to play maps created by others in the zombies game mode. Unfortunately, it is unknown whether this feature will be added to BO6.
What’s new?
Now, as for the actual gameplay, many players are enjoying the new combat option, like taking a hostage. While being held, the player becomes a meat-shield for the enemy and they can communicate via mic. Of course you can walk and shoot while holding someone hostage, but cannot jump or use special mobility.
Campaign: Bo6 offers a new campaign expanding upon the Black Ops storyline. This campaign includes all the new features within the game whilst maintaining an engaging story for both veteran and newer players, as well as a few secrets or “easter eggs” to discover.
Omni-movement: Many people online say Omni-Movement is too difficult to learn. However, many argue you can “still play the game normally.” They argue you can play the game without doing such excessive movement. It’s meant to give players other options in gunfights. You can easily drop high kill games without using omni movement. (Also I do find it pretty funny when I get 720 triple spin cross mapped deep dish style by tryhards.)
Overall, the mix of traditional and futuristic elements feel very new. And the game succeeds in creating a compelling, dynamic world that continues the BO6 legacy while introducing enough new features to keep things fun and new. Regardless of whether you’re playing solo, with friends, or in multiplayer, Black Ops 6 delivers a high-octane experience that will keep you waiting for more. I give it an 8/10.
