Our very first Advisory Spotlight is Ms. Watson’s. They showed their community spirit by having the highest number of students complete our Yonder survey. What’s special about this advisory?
Three students from room 32 in Waston’s advisory class all had amazing things to say about their advisor, Ms Watson.
Juelle Fraticelli says, “Ms Watson is a caring nurturing person, there’s never been a time she has made me feel uncomfortable”. Knowing that he could open up and come to Ms.Watson with out feeling like she’s going to dismiss his feeling means a lot especially when certain kids don’t always feel comfortable talking to adults about personal topics.

Jesmely Helly says: “One thing I like about advisory is that it’s a nice time to collect my thoughts, and I could chill and relax the rest of my day.” Advisory easily becomes one of the best classes to students, especially when there is a lot going on and advisory is something to look forward to if the teacher makes it fun, which Ms Watson does according to her students.
Jarelyn De La Cruz says: “Ms. Watson is very considerate, and she is very understanding.”Ms. Watson shows nothing but love and care for her students and it shows with how well they talk about her. It often feels nice when students can feel like they have a family outside of their real family that makes them feel like they fit in.
The advisory does journaling which is where they are given time to write in their notebook to clear their minds. They listen to music and talk about a topic of interest. Watson gives them important announcements, and gives out snacks if she has them.
