Coach Lomuscio by the Jay Jay court
Meet Coach Lomuscio, a passionate key member of our gym team who is preparing students for the next chapter of their lives. Coach Lomuscio was once a gym teacher at Validace and now is joining AMS, hm, Why the big change?
Everyone wonders why Lomuscio changed schools. He responded to this question with “I changed schools because there was an opportunity for me to teach middle school and high school. With that, because I’m the athletic director in the building, I felt that would be a good opportunity for me to communicate well with the middle school class. So when they get to high school, they’ll be prepared for high school athletics.” Lomuscio wants to be there for middle schoolers, preparing them for high school and AMS gives him the opportunity to do so. Coach G has his opinions as well as he states “I love the feeling. He was my teacher when I was a student. He taught me how to facilitate a class when I was younger on my journey to be a physical education teacher. He was also my coach, so I was able to really look up to him as I was growing up. It was really a well-blended mix.” Coach G is very thankful and excited to teach with someone who used to teach/coach him.
Coach/Mr. Lomuscio is a man who loves family. If he was to be granted any superpower he would choose teleportation because it would allow him to be there for his family anytime and go back home anytime and anywhere. He says “I’m teleporting. Family is important to me, so if I wanted to just go see my mom real quick, I could teleport. Just go see her or go to Florida to see my family that’s down there or wherever they are.” Lomuscio was also very athletic in high school and college. He played 3 sports: baseball, basketball and football. He says “In high school, I started off in the fall. I played football. In the winter, I played basketball. And then in the spring, I played baseball. But then it was a little bit too much for me because I really wanted to play college basketball or baseball. I just focused on baseball and basketball, and got rid of football.” If there is anything I’ve learned from speaking with Lomuscio is that no matter what gets in his way he doesn’t fear tackling his problems head on and coming out on the brightside.
What does Principle Chung think about this change? Chung says “He is an unstoppable force, and I’m really, really excited for him to join our team and work with our middle schoolers for the first time in a very long time.” She seems to feel really excited about Lomuscio joining the gym team.
